Mr. Vines started Kesser International in 1987 as a sole proprietorship while serving in the U.S. Army. The company performed commercial renovation and new construction projects for the city, state, and other government agencies. He incorporated in 2001 and now focuses primarily on heavy construction projects resulting from environmental damage.

 As a youth, Ralph faced the challenge of having a speech impediment that followed him into his adult years. He realizes the importance of being able to communicate with the public and clients. Therefore, through this contest, he wants to encourage young people to test and demonstrate their public speaking skills.
